Blog Award

Hey guys,
Ana over at Every Stinkin Page tagged me for the Sunshine blog award, so thanks Ana :D
Ana does a writing blog that's quite informative on writing... so go follow her blog!
Now you don't have to do this, but the rules say I have to nominate people, So Kelsie and Emma.

Rules:
I. thank the blogger that nominated you and link to his/her blog
II. nominate other bloggers and let them know on their blogs
III. answer a list of ten questions
IV. the Sunshine Award button must be posted on your blog

Here are the questions:
1. What is your favorite quote from a book? It's from Les Miserables (my all time favorite book): God caused flowers to blossom before men shaped stone.

2. Would you sacrifice your life if it would save that of a stranger's? I think I would.

3. Given a chance to swim with dolphins . . . would you accept? Absolutely! Every time my family goes to the beach, we see dolphins swimming off the shore.... but I'm too scared of sharks to swim out to where they are. they'd probably swim away anyway.

4. Are you more "fascinated" by the light or by the darkness; why? Light, because it makes rainbows

5. Can you speak with a different accent? I can occasionally get away with an Australian accent, but usually I sound ridiculous...

6. Would you rather be disliked or forgotten? Being forgotten sounds horrible off the bat, but I would hate to be disliked. probably forgotten then.
7. Has the ocean ever filled your dreams? No, not really.

8. Presuming you own one, how often is your journal put to use?  I journal every night.

9. Favorite fictional character of all time? Wow. How am I supposed to answer this? Off the top of my head; Percy Jackson. Or Finnick.
10. What is your favorite hymn? Be Thou My Vision

Well that was fun!
thanks for reading :D

What's up

Hey....
I know nobody reads this anymore, but I've been wanting to get back into posting lately. So I'm either going to give this blog a makeover or start a new one. But concerning what I'm going to be posting, I think art and random thoughts.
So that's my random update.
maybe see you soon?

A Book Shelf Necklace

I love miniatures. So when I saw this little bookshelf necklace on pinterest, I decided to make it!
All of my 'ingredients'. ( and our very messy crafting table...)

here's mine.
It's not as neat as the original (of course) but I think it's cute!

Crocheted Jewelry

Inspired by something I saw on Pinterest (of course :P ), I made a crocheted necklace.

I crocheted around a key chain ring for the big one, and smaller rings for the little ones.
I quite like it. :)

On colorful shoes

So I had this pair of hand-me-down shoes.
They're really cute right?
I loved them, but they didn't match anything that I own. And what's the point of having shoes if you can't wear them?
So I decided to recycle them :)

1. I pulled off the ribbon.
 Now they look like this:

2. I got a bunch of colorful fabric scraps.

3. I cut the scraps to fit and glued them to the shoes.

4. I made two braids of some strips of matching fabric.

4. I glued the braids down across the shoes, like the ribbon was originally.

And...  Ta-da!!!

An awesome pair of very cool shoes. I love the scrappy look!

Super colorful and will probably match everything I own :)

I'll probably fray check the edges and spray them with some fabric protector later....

Pinterest and DIY

Lately I've been looking at a lot of Do It Yourself projects on Pinterest.
I found this one and I just had to do it. :)

Mine (of course) didn't turn out to be all that was in the picture.
But I like it :)

I bought these handles at Joanne Fabrics. I originally wanted wooden ones like the one in the picture, but the black really matches the book better.
They were too long, so I shortened them with colored thread.

The inside:

I'm a nervous wreck when it comes to the sewing machine, so mom sewed the pockets down for me.

Tragedy! The binding cracked a little while I was working on it,
(the book is from 1911, I got it at an antique store)
so I covered it with fabric and some ribbon. I think it looks really cute. :)
I'm very happy with how it turned out! And of course the title is amazing. :)

the Avengers

I walked into the theater expecting the same awesomeness that I had seen in Captain America and Thor.

Try times 100. It was so good! I loved seeing them work together as a team.

Thor's entrance was unexpected and amazing.
He's as cocky as ever, and still trying to convince Loki
that he can turn away from the 'dark side' and come home.
Still sporting a super cool outfit.
And Hammer.
I love it when he holds out his hand and it just flies from where ever it was into it.

Captain America still has the amazing suit. :)
I absolutely loved that he was the leader.
He is as sweet and nice as ever, but had great battle moves and a great shield.

Hawk Eye and Black Widow were both new superheros for me.
When I heard that Black Widow was going to be in the movie, I thought , 'great! they put a girl in so that she can be creepy and flirty with the boys and be a female warrior.'
And while she was a warrior, she was still feminine and there was no flirting :)
I loved her battle moves and interrogating abilities.
Hawk Eye was amazing. though (SPOILER) it was a little disappointing that he was hypnotized for half the movie! But at the end battle he was fighting for the right team.
I loved his exploding arrows. I loved his folding bow.

I've never really liked the Hulk, or had any interest in seeing his movie.
But he was pretty cool. It's kind of creepy how he can lose control so easily,
but at the end battle scene he's really amazing.

 Iron man was simply hilarious.

He kept throwing out hilarious jokes so fast that I missed them I was laughing so hard!
I absolutely LOVED his end conversation with Loki.
Every thing he says is a quote.

Loki. I kinda liked him in Thor, but he shows his true evil side in this movie.

The end battle was amazing and funny and exciting.
They totally wrecked the city but saved the world.
